Yoshimichi Kumon(公文 義道)
Inventor · Researcher · Founder, LSI Tokyo, Japan
In Brief
Yoshimichi Kumon is a Japanese inventor, management accounting researcher, and the founder of LSI — Logos Sovereign Intelligence. He holds a PCT international patent for a physical-layer AI governance system (ARDS/ARKS, GA26P001WO) and is a Visiting Researcher at Waseda University Business Finance Centre.
His background is unusual by design. A former military pilot who has worked in bioenergy, blockchain payment infrastructure in West Africa, and AI governance research, he brings to every problem the pilot’s foundational discipline: trust the instruments, not the system’s self-report, and know where the physical override is before you need it.
Current Positions
Visiting Researcher — Waseda University Business Finance Centre, Tokyo Research theme: Management accounting implications of AI governance in creative industries. Supervised by Professor Nobumasa Shimizu.
Analyst — Kendall Square Ventures AI and deep tech investment analysis.
General Manager of Planning — Asahi Production Inc., Tokyo Strategic planning and AI workflow integration for animation studio. Research field for Waseda BFC empirical study.
Director — Pensée Sauvage Ltd, Malta EU-facing commercialisation of the ARDS/ARKS patent portfolio and captive insurance applications for autonomous vehicle AI governance.
Representative Director — Hathor LLC, Tokyo R&D centre for ARDS/ARKS physical-layer AI governance.
Patent
PCT International Patent Application No. GA26P001WO (filed February 2026) ARDS/ARKS: Physical-Layer AI Governance via Sovereignty Residual
A three-layer hardware architecture for AI anomaly detection, physical power interruption, and tamper-proof forensic recording. The system monitors hardware-level signals — heat, power consumption, electromagnetic radiation — that exist independently of the AI’s own software-layer reports. Intervention is physical, not logical. Records are generated via a pathway the AI cannot access.
Education
MIT Sloan School of Management + CSAIL Artificial Intelligence for Business Strategy — Certificate of Completion, April 2026
Waseda University Graduate School of Finance MBA (Finance), supervised by Professor Nobumasa Shimizu
Keio University, Faculty of Letters History — Correspondence programme (in progress) Research theme: Izanagi-ryu ritual traditions of Kochi Prefecture
Professional Background
Japan Air Self-Defense Force Military pilot (47th Aviation cadet) — FAA Commercial Pilot License (multi-engine IFR) holder
Blockchain payment infrastructure Co-founder of stablecoin architecture (PCT filed); payment system deployment in Ghana and West Africa; negotiations with Ghana Ministry of Finance on digital currency adoption
Bioenergy Microalgae-based bioenergy and carbon credit project development
